When we arrived in Melbourne we came on an over night bus from Canberra. Situated across the road from the bus station we unknowingly entered what is considered to be the best cafe in Melbourne. Sleepy and in desperate need of a coffee we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the coffee here. Located in a beautiful heritage-listed 19th-century power station they also offer an excellent food menu that is not to be missed.

This micro roaster serves delicious coffee in its city cafe. The quality of coffee here is outstanding and the food menu is just as good. The staff are super friendly. We highly recommend trying the filter coffee here.

Tom Thumb Cafe
This cafe is small but cosy. The staff are very friendly and the coffee is excellent. They have a few tables outside on the pavement. This cafe is very popular with locals so seats are at a premium. However, we were lucky enough to grab a table outside where we enjoyed our delicious iced coffees in the Australian sun.

Coffee was not the reason we visited Lune Croissanterie but we were pleasantly surprised with the coffee here. Lune Croissanterie is famous in Melbourne for their outstanding croissants. The main cafe is located in Fitzroy in an impressive industrial style space. The chefs can been seen producing these buttery delights in a temperature-controlled glass cube. What could be better than begin your day with a perfectly baked croissant and an exquisite coffee.

A hidden gem located on Hardware Lane recognisable by its solitary hashtag symbol as its only signage. This cafe serves an excellent cup of coffee. Hashtag serves its own signature blend coffee along with some really impressive food.
