How to Stay Healthy While Traveling

Traveling is one of the most amazing experiences, but it can also be stressful and physically draining on our bodies when we are constantly on the go. Here are our tips to help you stay healthy on the road:

Sleep!!

The most important thing you can do while traveling is try to stick to a good sleep routine. When you are traveling, changing time zones, carrying heavy backpacks and walking around all day your body can quickly become exhausted. Make sure you are getting enough sleep to ensure you can keep going.

Pace Yourself

Don’t try to see an entire city or do every activity in one day. Take your time to explore your destination. Enjoy the city by strolling around the streets and relaxing in the park. If you pack everyday full of things to do and places to see you will become too tired to actually appreciate it.

Walk Everywhere

Clocking in up to 30,000 steps per day is not unusual for us. Walking is a great way to get your daily exercise whilst exploring a new destination at the same time. We always try walk anywhere we can instead of taking public transport. Not only are we getting our steps in but we are also saving money too.

Hand Sanitiser

Hand sanitiser comes in very useful when water and soap are not available, which actually happens a lot when traveling. We have been in a lot of situations where there is no soap in public toilets or in food markets etc. It just a really handy thing to always have on hand.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking lots of water is key to helping you feel good particularly if you are out and about all day in the heat! We always carry reusable water bottles everywhere we go.

We love Chilly’s water bottles as they keep our water colds for hours!!

Stay Sun Safe

The last thing you want is to be in a tropical paradise suffering from sunstroke and covered in blisters. Make sure to apply sunscreen regularly, wear a hat and stay hydrated.
