On the 10th of September 2017 we packed up our belongings, said our goodbyes and began the adventure of a life time traveling the world. On that day we did not predict what that year would bring. Living and teaching in Chiang Mai Thailand was not on the cards back then and if someone told us one year ago we would be living in South East Asia during a global Pandemic we would have told them they were mad.
Yet one year later, 10 countries, countless hostels/hotels, 1000 coffees (rough estimate), 120 blog posts and one global pandemic everyday is still an adventure. Here is the last year in 10 photos:
Our first tick off the bucket list was the Great Wall of China. Even though it was one of the first things we seen on this trip it still stands out as a highlight.
Hiking to the highest peak in Bukhansan National Park was one of the highlights during our time in Seoul. This hike really put us to the test but once we got to the top the incredible views over the city made it worth our while.
Ireland VS New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup quarter finals. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side for this game.
Quick stop off in Singapore taking in the sights around Marina Bay. We only had a short amount of time to explore Singapore but definatly somewhere we want to return.
A volcano sunrise trek up Mt Batur with our Brendan and Molly from Frawlovertheworld was an amazing experience and one we will not forget. Hiking up the volcano in the dark at 2am to watch the sunrise from the top was incredible.
A secluded beach we came across during our road trip from Carins to Daintree Rainforest.
Experiencing Lunar New Year (Tet) in Vietnam was an amazing experience. It was by complete coincidence we were it Vietnam for the celebrations.
An early morning start to watch Sunrise over Angkor Wat. Another tick for the bucket list.
Our favourite waterfalls on this trip had to be Kuang Si outside Luang Prabang Laos. No photo will do these waterfalls justice. They were spectacular!
Finally, our newly adopted home of Chiang Mai. Relaxing by the pool celebrating Brian’s 30th Birthday during lockdown.
We are excited to see what the next year has in store for us. Stay tune as we share another year of adventures and travels!
what a great collection of photos! Heres to the next 10 countries!
